SBE, Inc. and Vermont HITEC are pleased to announce they will start recruitment for a new training program on November 1st, with the launch of their job recruitment website.  Through a partnership with Vermont HITEC, the Vermont Department of Labor, and Central Vermont Community Action Council, SBE is now enrolling applicants into a newly developed program that provides free education and on-site training at the company’s facility in Barre, Vermont.  Successful completion of the program will lead directly to full-time Process Technician positions at SBE.

SBE’s Process Technician ITAR program is an intensive eight-week, forty hours per week, total immersion education program.  Training will begin in 2011 with two sessions of 10-15 participants each.  Following the completion of the unpaid education phase, the Process Technician positions at SBE will start at $12.92 per hour, plus shift differential and benefits.  The potential to earn more is available upon the completion of a one-year apprenticeship.  Graduates of the education and apprenticeship program may earn college credits towards an associate degree from a community college.  The program is funded through a federal grant acquired through the Office of Senator Patrick J. Leahy, and is administered through the US Department of Labor.  In addition to occupational skills training, soft skills and work readiness components will be woven into the curriculum.  The program is targeted for unemployed and underemployed Vermonters.

For more information on the SBE’s Process Technician ITAR program, please visit Vermont HITEC online at or call Steven Lutton at (802) 872-0660.  The application deadline to the program is Friday, December 3rd.  Interested individuals must apply online in order to attend a mandatory job fair being held on Saturday, December 4th at the SBE facility at 131 S. Main Street in Barre, VT.
