Strategy
Our technology roadmap is driven by the strategy of application specific solutions. Rather than develop broad product lines to meet everyone’s needs, SBE has decided to build on the existing Orange Drop® product line of polyester and polypropylene metallized/film-foil film capacitors with technology innovations addressing specific demanding applications which are difficult to solve in the marketplace. In so doing, we have developed solutions which can be tailored directly to a customer’s need rather than forcing a choice among standard products. Experience has shown that we can do so in a very cost competitive manner, often at best overall value for the customer.

    Just How Good is SBE’s Patented Pulse Capacitor?

  • High Corona Inception Voltage (CIV)
    SBE, in partnership with one of its customers, is developing new technology which greatly increases the CIV of the capacitors, allows for manufacturability in volume, and substantially improves the high energy field characteristics of the capacitor. Details on this technology will be released soon.

  • Capacitor Bank
    If you are looking to implement Bulk Storage or Ripple Current Capacitor Banks for current distribution, consider SBE's Power Ring™ technology. The Power Ring is significantly more dense in Capacitance per volume compared to a typically implemented array of single section capacitors attached with a bus bar arrangement. Equal, or greater, current distribution is possible in the monolithically-wound Power Ring™ with proper placement of terminals around the ring. Additionally, lower ESL (equivalent series inductance) is also possible depending on the critical needs of the system.
